1)      LIBRARYMarch 9, 2010; 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

2)      ATTENTION ALL SOPHOMORES WHO WERE ABSENT FOR THE EXIT EXAMS LAST MONTH: On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week you will be participating in the California High School Exit Exam. Passing the exam is a requirement for graduation and all students are required to take it their first time in their sophomore year. Tuesday you will be taking the English-Language Arts portion of the test and Wednesday the math portion. Please remember to bring a photo ID and two number-2 pencils. If you don't have a photo ID you need to see Donna this week in the Student Store. Again, you MUST have a picture ID to be admitted into the testing room.  You will be testing in the cafeteria starting at 7:45am and going to about 12:30. Sophomores with an IEP you will test in Room L-7 of the library,

 

ATTENTION JUNIORS WHO HAVE NOT PASSED ONE OR BOTH PARTS OF THE EXIT EXAM.  On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week you will be taking the Exit Exams.  Tuesday is the English portion, and Wednesday is the math portion.  Please be to school on time and report directly to the cafeteria. Students with an IEP will test in either Room T-1 or T-6, ask your teacher for your room assignment.  Remember to bring two number-2 pencils.  You will need to bring a photo ID so if you do not have one, please see Donna in the student store to get one today..

3)      ATTENTION STUDENTS – The SPCA fundraiser begins its second week.  The Interact Club is determined to help these special dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.  Look at the SPCA Wish List in your classroom.  Whatever you can do to help will be appreciated.

4)      ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS - Do you have plans Saturday night? Come see Hero's Last Mission from Sacramento CA, play at the axiom; Sat., March 13th 6:00 p.m.  There is a 7 dollar cover charge or 5 dollar presale ticket.  Open to all ages.  A membership card is not needed to attend and everyone is welcome!

5)      SOUTHEAST ASIAN STUDENTS - The UC Davis Hmong Student Union is hosting their 18th Annual High School Conference at UC Davis on Saturday, April 3rd. The objective of the conference is to encourage Southeast Asian American students to utilize their cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds to gain a greater appreciation for the opportunities around them and to promote higher education. There is a mandatory refundable deposit of $5 when you sign up to participant in the conference. You can sign up in the counseling office with your counselor or in room B-2 with Crystal Thao. Sign up ends March 24th. If you have questions, see your school counselor or Crystal Thao.

6)      EASTER GRAMS – Asian Club members are selling Easter grams through Friday (March 19th).  Grams are sold at $2.00/each.  You can purchase grams from any Asian Club member or in the quad.  Come buy an Easter gram for your friends and teachers!

7)      ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WHO HAVE BILLS – According to the new rule you will not be allowed to attend extra curricular activities until those bills are settled; this includes the Prom.  Pay your bills in the Student Store ASAP.

8)      CAP/GOWN/TASSEL ORDERS – If you have not ordered your cap and gown unit then pick up a flyer in the student store.  The only way to order is through the mail. 

9)      SENIORS – The Freda Flint Visual Arts Scholarship application is available in the Counseling Office.  One $250 scholarship will be awarded.  In order to apply, you must be recommended by a Visual Arts teacher and have a 2.0 GPA or better.  Applications must be postmarked by April 14, 2010.

10)  SENIORS – The Sigma Phi Gamma Scholarship applications are now available in the Counseling Office.  The deadline to submit this application is April 14, 2010.  The application is to be returned to the counseling Office.

11)  SENIORS – The OHS Athletic Boosters Club announces a $500 scholarship opportunity to one male and one female senior athlete who has played at least two full seasons of sports at OHS, has a cumulative GPA of 2.75, and plans to attend college in the Fall of 2010.  Interested seniors can pick up information in the Counseling Office.  Applications are due April 15 to the Counseling Office.

12)  SENIORS – Ad space is going fast!  There are only ten pages left!  Senior ads are for sale in the student store, but the last day to turn them in is March 19th!  Secure your space now before it is all gone!

13)  SENIORS – If you plan on applying for the P.T.S.A. scholarship, you need to be a current member by March 12th.  See Mr. Schmautz for details.

14)  WRESTLERS – Turn in your equipment to Sensei Tamori in A-2 TODAY, or you will be billed $40 for the Singlet and $40 for the Jacket.  Our awards meeting will be held at Round Table Wednesday, March 10th, starting at 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.

15)  FOOTBALL GAME – Please buy a ticket in the Student Store for the North State Renegades (semi-pro) Football Game at Harrison Stadium on Saturday, March 13, at 6:00 p.m.  All proceeds go to Oroville and L.P. Athletics.  ALL TICKETS:  $5.00.

16)  BOYS SOCCERPlease return their uniforms, car raffle tickets and candy money as soon as possible, otherwise the cost of the items will go on your school bill.
